What is cryptostorm and how does it work?

Cryptostorm is an Iceland-based veteran of the VPN arena with offices in Canada. Previously known as Cryptocloud, the provider aims to take VPN a step further than location spoofing. The fact that Cryptostorm is token-based brings a bundle of advantages. First of all, there are no accounts, passwords, and usernames.

Is cryptostorm a free VPN?

Unfortunately, there’s no free VPN option here, but there is a good amount of flexibility in Cryptostorm’s pricing plans and payments. CryptoStorm accepts PayPal, credit cards, Stripe, or BitPay, as well as a free plan with one server and bandwidths of 160 kbps. CryptoStorm is a VPN that uses tokens.

Is cryptostorm based in Iceland?

This review (which also talks to a CryptoStorm spokesperson) states that CryptoStorm is based in Iceland. I can, however, find no other confirmation of this. Iceland is good for privacy, but if CryptoStorm is indeed based in there, then it is interesting to note that it runs no servers from that location.

How much does cryptostorm cost?

CryptoStorm’s pricing structure is somewhat unusual. The base cost is $6 USD per month, with minor savings for buying a longer subscription. Buying an annual subscription, for example, saves just $6 over paying on a monthly basis. What buying a subscription does do, however, is increase the number of simultaneous connections you are permitted.
